Jamil Khatri

Jamil is an Indian Chartered Accountant and a US Certified Public Accountant with 30 years of experience in the consulting and assurance industry serving clients in India, the UK, and the US. He has deep experience in US listings and as the leader of the US GAAP & SEC practice for KPMG, has assisted several large Indian companies in complying with US listing regulations as they raised capital from the US markets.
Jamil pioneered the accounting advisory industry in India and built a market-leading practice advising clients on accounting, reporting, governance, and finance function matters. He subsequently assumed responsibility as the Global Head of KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services business, a US$ 1 billion practice, with 4,000+ consultants. In his last stint before co-founding Uniqus, he led the assurance practice of KPMG to a market-leading position and served on the leadership team of KPMG India where he also led the Inclusion, Diversity & Equity agenda.
Jamil has served on various industry and regulatory committees and has been featured as a Top 40 business leader under the age of Forty by Spencer Stuart & The Economic Times. He was also selected as one of the three Leaders of Tomorrow in Business for a special feature by India Today, a leading Indian publication.
An avid reader, he loves to travel and soak in multicultural experiences. He has a deep interest in mentoring startups and has personally invested in several early-stage companies. Jamil actively supports a not-for-profit organization that focuses on increasing the education participation of the underprivileged girl child.
