Deepak Dara leads investment and asset management activities for Ontario Teachers’ in India, overseeing the growth and management of Teachers’ over $4bn portfolio across private equity, infrastructure, growth equity, and credit.

Since joining Ontario Teachers’ in 2020 at the Toronto headquarters, Deepak has played a pivotal role in advancing global and cross-asset class initiatives, including the five-year investment strategy, India strategy, and climate action. Relocating to India in 2022, Deepak has been instrumental in several key investments, such as Sahyadri Hospital, Kogta Financial, Mahindra Susten, Perfios, and Xpressbees. With over 18 years of experience in investing, strategy, and operational leadership, Deepak brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.

Before joining Ontario Teachers’, Deepak was part of the leadership team at the Boston Consulting Group’s principal investor and private equity practice. His career has taken him across Asia, Europe, and North America, providing him with a diverse and global perspective.

Deepak holds an MBA from Duke University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. Additionally, he holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
