Niren Shah is the Managing Director and Head of Norwest India. He brings more than 25 years of investing, entrepreneurial, finance, operational, and investment banking experience to Norwest. Niren has been with Norwest for over 17 years and built out the firm’s presence in India. He has a phenomenal investment track record with multi-billion-dollar outcomes across Tech, Financials, SaaS, Consumer spanning both Venture and Growth Equity.

Niren has been an investor in several of India’s leading new-age companies including Swiggy, OfBusiness, Amagi, Xpressbees, Mintifi amongst several others. Niren also pioneered investing in Indian financials and led investments in companies such as Chola Finance, Kotak, Shriram Finance, Five Star, SK Finance etc. that are multi-billion dollar companies today. Prior to joining Norwest India, Niren was the Senior Director of Strategy and Ventures at eBay.com, Inc. in Silicon Valley. Prior to eBay, Niren was a co-founder at Baazee.com, India’s largest Ecommerce marketplace at the time, which was acquired by eBay in 2004.

Niren worked with KPMG from 1995-2000 across Audit and Corporate Finance. Niren is a rank holder Chartered Accountant, and a M.Com gold medalist from the University of India.
